The Commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar Satellites of Smart Satellite have Entered the Assembly, Integration, and Testing Phase, Expecting to Be Launched in 2023

      Two commercial synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites of Smart Satellite, SmartSat-X1 and SmartSat-X2, have entered the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) phase. They are expected to be launched next year. Smart Satellite plans to build a 12-satellite constellation, which will be the first of its kind in China, to achieve global hourly coverage. The specification is shown in the figure below.     


     Smart Satellite’s goal is to provide SAR remote sensing turnkey solution, which is highly customizable base on customers’ requirements. At this stage, the company focuses on the design, development, and production of the SAR payloads and SAR satellite platforms, which are cost-efficient, multi-purpose, and fast-deployable.
