Smart Satellite Global Change in the Palm of Our Hands

        Smart Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., established on May 10, 2018, is a national level high-tech company and member of International Astronautical Federation (IAF). It focuses on the manufacturing and operation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites. It is the first commercial aerospace company in China with business focus on SAR satellites and has the ability of spaceborne integrated SAR design system. It is also the first organization in China owning the X-band radar satellite frequency after completing the network filing in International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

      The company now has a professional team, mainly composed of members from China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CAST), Chinese Academy of Sciences, National University of Defense Technology and other relevant organizations. The team have undertaken several satellite deployment tasks, including Tiantong-1, Dongfanghong-4 enhanced satellite platform, Dongfanghong-5 satellite platform, Young Pioneer Star-1, SmartSat-1, etc. The key members have successful satellite development and launching experiences in both institutional and commercial aerospace organizations. It can provide users with all-in-one solutions including satellite design, manufacturing, network filling, insurance, launching coordination, TT&C service, earth observation data processing and implementation etc. On December 22, 2020, the company's first satellite "SmartSat -1" was successfully launched in Wenchang of Hainan province.

The company will complete the development of two SAR satellites in 2022 and establish a constellation composed of 12 SAR satellites in 2024 so that the millimeter level deformation monitoring services will be available for customer with hourly revisit at anywhere in the world. At present, the X-band SAR satellite constellation network filling has been registered in ITU. It will be China's first SAR satellite constellation as well as the world's leading SAR satellite monitoring network. The company has the key technologies of low orbit SAR satellite manufacturing and in-orbit operation, and completely own relevant intellectual property rights. With the construction of SAR satellite constellation, the company’s mission is to become a leading domestic and world-class SAR satellite manufacturer and operator, and contribute to China's commercial aerospace development and national defense modernization.
